Service and Transport Optimization

Available in service-edge-optimized (higher memory for large-scale services) and packet-transport-optimized models. Both variants support service-optimized and transport-optimized line cards, allowing mixing on the same chassis for maximum flexibility. Delivers high scalability, performance, and fast convergence for video, cloud, and mobile services.

Cisco IOS XR Software is self-healing, distributed, designed for always-on operation with Software-Maintenance-Update (SMU) for bug fixes and small features without service interruption, and Field-Programmable Device (FPD) upgrades for FPGAs, ROMmon while running.
