The Cisco ASR920-GNSS is a pluggable GNSS module designed for the Cisco ASR 920 Series Aggregation Services Class B Timing Compliance Routers. This module enhances timing accuracy for mobile backhaul and business services, meeting ITU G.8273.2 Class B specifications and providing superior PTP phase delivery. Positioned as a key accessory for converged access platforms, it supports 5G-ready deployments with high-throughput, low-power consumption in a compact form factor.

Converged Access for Mobile Applications

Deployed as converged access for mobile backhaul, aggregates multiple base stations via Ethernet and IP interfaces using MPLS transport. Provides Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and IEEE-1588 timing services. Suitable for small, sealed cabinets in outside environments due to small form factor and extended temperature range.

Metro Ethernet Access

Meets service provider requirements for Carrier Ethernet access, optimized for remote access, central offices, and smaller aggregation sites. Delivers Layer 2, IP, and MPLS transport for L2VPN, L3VPN, and multicast services. Supports MEF 3.0 services: ELINE, ELAN, ETREE, ACCESS ELINE, TRANSIT ELINE.
