The Cisco FLASR1-BB-64K is a feature license for the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers, enabling broadband aggregation with support for up to 64,000 sessions. ASR 1000 Series Integration

The Cisco ASR 1000 Series, powered by the innovative Cisco QuantumFlow processor, sets a new price-to-performance benchmark for enterprise advanced routing, service provider edge, and broadband aggregation. This series separates control and data planes for software redundancy (on ASR 1001, ASR 1002 Fixed, ASR 1002, ASR 1002-X, ASR 1004) and hardware redundancy (ASR 1006, ASR 1013), with In-Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) support via modular Cisco IOS XE software.

Services embedded in the QuantumFlow processor include security (encryption, firewall), QoS, NBAR, FPM, broadband aggregation, and Cisco Unified Border Element (SP edition, formerly SBC). Performance scales from 2.5 Gbps to 100 Gbps depending on the Embedded Service Processor (ESP).

Cisco IOS XE software, based on modular Cisco IOS, provides packaging, feature velocity, and resiliency. Supports dual IOS instances for software redundancy on select models. Feature packs include IP Base, Advanced IP Services, and Advanced Enterprise Services, with or without encryption. Universal images for ASR 1001 and ASR 1002-X combine base with technology licenses (SLASR1-IPB, SLASR1-AIS, SLASR1-AES).

Chassis and Performance Overview

The series includes ASR 1001 (1RU), ASR 1002 Fixed/1002/1002-X (2RU), ASR 1004 (4RU), ASR 1006 (6RU), and ASR 1013 (13RU). All feature front-to-back airflow, redundant power options (AC/DC), and rack-mount support (19-inch). Built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports (4-6 depending on model), optional Integrated Daughter Cards (IDC) for T3, OC-3 POS, GE, T1/E1, or HDD on ASR 1001.

ESP bandwidth: 2.5-5 Gbps (ASR1001), up to 100 Gbps (ASR1006/1013). Embedded hardware encryption up to 25 Gbps. Supports Shared Port Adapters (SPAs) for serial, Ethernet, PoS, ATM, and more.
