The Cisco FLSASR903-ATM is a feature license designed for the Cisco ASR 903 Router within the ASR 900 Series Aggregation Services Routers. This license enables service providers to activate Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) functionality on Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) interfaces as required. It supports critical ATM capabilities including ATM pseudowires over MPLS (ATMoMPLS), ATM local switching, ATM interworking, and local ATM termination.
One FLSASR903-ATM license is required per ASR 900 Series router chassis to enable these features system-wide. Deployment requires the system to have at least one T1/E1, OC-3/STM-1, or OC-12/STM-4 card installed. This license integrates seamlessly with Cisco IOS XE Software, which provides a modular structure separating the data plane and control plane for enhanced quality and performance.
ATM License Capabilities
Cisco IOS XE Software on the ASR 903 Router includes base licenses for Metro Services, Metro IP Services, and Metro Aggregation Services, with feature sets activated via appropriate licenses. The ASR 903 is supported starting from Cisco IOS XE Software Release 3.5.0S.
Cisco IOS XE Modular Packaging
Cisco IOS XE offers consolidated universal packages that include a superset of features, activated through licenses like FLSASR903-ATM. Three packages are available: Cisco ASR 902/903 Series RSP2 IOS XE 16.12.1 Universal – No Payload Encryption (SASR900R2NPEK91612), Cisco ASR 902/903/907/914 Series RSP3 IOS XE 16.12.1 Universal – No Payload Encryption (SASR900R3NPEK91612), and Cisco ASR 903/907/914 Series RSP3 IOS XE 16.12.1 Universal – Payload Encryption (SASR900R3K91612). Each provides complete Cisco IOS XE Software feature support.
Feature License Integration
The FLSASR903-ATM complements the three primary Cisco IOS Software licenses: Metro Services (advanced QoS, Carrier Ethernet Layer 2, SyncE, Ethernet OAM), Metro IP Services (adds IP routing, BFD, IEEE 1588-2008 clocks, Layer 3 features), and Metro Aggregation Services (adds MPLS-TP, MPLS, EoMPLS, CESoPSN, SAToP pseudowires, MR-APS, mLACP, MPLS TE, FRR, MPLS VPN). All licenses except port-specific ones are per-chassis.
