HPE Storage Multiservice Switch C-series SN6640C (MDS 9220i)
The HPE Storage Multiservice Switch C-Series SN6640C is the next generation of highly flexible, industry-leading, and proven multiservice switches in the HPE C-Series portfolio. It is an optimised platform for deploying high-performance SAN scaling solutions, distributed intelligent fabric services and cost-effective multi-protocol connectivity for all open systems environments. With its compact form factor and advanced features, the HPE Storage Multiservice Switch C-Series SN6640C is the ideal solution for departmental and remote branch office SANs, as well as large SANs used with the HPE SN8700C Series Multilayer Director.
The HPE Storage Multiservice Switch C-Series SN6640C provides up to twelve 32 Gbps Fibre Channel ports, four 1/10, two 25, and one 40 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) IP storage service ports in a fixed, single rack unit (1RU) form factor. The SN6640C switch connects to existing local Fibre Channel networks, protecting current investments in storage networks. On the two fixed 1/10 GbE IP storage service ports, SAN Extension over IP application package licences are standard, enabling features such as Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP) and compression on the switch without the need for additional licences.
