Product Overview
The Juniper QFX5241-64QD-TCHAS is a 2U fixed-configuration switch chassis with 64x 800GbE QSFP-DD ports, designed for high-density spine or leaf roles in IP fabric architectures. This spare chassis and ORv3 2OU tray does not include rack mount kit (RMK), power supply units (PSUs), or fans. It supports front-to-back airflow (AFO), high-radix TH5 BCM78900 chipset with 64 Peregrine SerDes cores, and Junos OS Evolved for advanced Layer 2/3 switching, routing, and EVPN-VXLAN fabrics.
Architecture & Performance
Powered by Broadcom TH5 BCM78900 chipset, the QFX5241-64QD-TCHAS delivers 51.2 Tbps throughput with 0.165 GB packet buffer, 136K MAC addresses, and 4000 VLAN IDs. Intel 4-core 2.2-GHz Ice Lake processor with 32 GB DRAM handles control plane. Dual 480 GB SSDs provide 960 GB internal storage. QoS includes 8 unicast and 2 multicast queues per port. Ports support channelization and full 800G speeds via QSFP-DD transceivers.
Chassis & FRUs
2U form factor (3.46 x 19.03 x 25.51 in, 48.5 lb fully loaded without optics). Requires separate PSUs (2x 3000W AC/DC, 1+1 redundant), 4x fan modules (3+1 redundant, QFX5240-2U-FANAO), and QFX5240-2U-4PRMK rack kit. Hot-swappable FRUs with 403 CFM airflow.
Management & Connectivity
Management panel: 2x SFP28 (10G), 1x RJ-45 console, 1x RJ-45 MGMT, 1x USB Type A, 10 MHz, PPS, ToD ports. Supports precise timing for data center sync.
